Frequently Asked Questions


I just ordered from your website. When will I receive my order?

1. If you ordered a personalized plaque, we will ship your order approximately 2 weeks after you approve the plaque artwork. (You will receive your email proof within 1-2 business days of placing your order.) 

2. No personalized plaque? Then we will ship your order approximately two weeks from the date the order is received.

Contact us if you need to rush your order, or if you'd like to find out if it will get to you in time.

 

How should I lay out my photos in my album?


If you're wondering how to mount your photos, we recommend using archival photo corners or photo tabs.

Who makes my book?

Molly does most of the binding, and Michelle occasionally helps. When things get really busy, we draw on other creative and talented Portlanders to assist.

 

What materials do you use? Are they archival?

You can see our product line materials here. All materials we use -- cloth, board, adhesives, paper-- are archival. 

 
Do you ship outside of the United States?

Yes! Just select "international shipping" at checkout. We ship international items USPS Express Mail International, insured, and with delivery confirmation where available. For custom orders shipping outside the U.S., we will bill through Paypal. Contact Michelle if you have other questions.

 
I want a completely custom book or box made. How do I order something custom from you?

Send us an email and let us know what you would like. We find it can be helpful for you to browse our gallery first to find projects that might be similar to your own.

 
I'm a professional photographer and want to use your albums for my clients. Do you offer special professional photographer pricing?

We do offer modest professional discounts on our website products. Contact us for more information.

 

I'm a professional photographer and want to have you make a line of exclusive products for my clients. How do I do this?

Call or email and we will be happy to go over how this works. We will want to know what size albums you would like, how many pages, if you'll be providing us with printed pages, or if we'll be mounting photo prints (our specialty.) Once we talk, we'll come up with a proposal for a product line for you. You'll pick which pieces you want, order samples, and we'll provide you with a swatch book and order form so you can place future orders.

 

 How much does it cost to get a completely custom book made?

Custom pricing depends largely on materials, size, and structure. That said, CD folios start at $80.00, Post-Bound books start at $140.00, Library-style bindings start at $200.00, Slipcases start at $150.00, and Clamshell Boxes start at $350.00. Binding in leather typically adds $120.00. Contact Michelle if you have more specific questions-- she'll be happy to send a quick quote your way.

 

Can I hire you to make a single book?

Yes! We love making one-of-a-kind books.

 

Can I commission you to make 100 books?

100 is a large quantity for us, but not out of the question depending on your project. Keep in mind that we do everything by hand, so large quantities may need a few extra weeks of lead time. Contact us for more info. 

 
Can you print my pages for me?

We don't do the printing ourselves, but we can help. We work with a fantastic digital printer and a glorious archival printer, and we can help coordinate getting your book pages printed.

 

Can you print my name right onto my book cover?

We can. Keep in mind that setup fees for foil stamping and laser etching are high, so while it's inexpensive to have 1000 books printed, printing one copy will run about $150.00 depending on your artwork. 

 

Can you make a recessed area so I can adhere my own personalized card or photo to the book cover?

Absolutely, just tell us the dimensions of your card. A $30.00 charge will apply.

 

Do you offer quantity discounts?

Yes. If you're ordering more than ten of the exact same item (same cloth color, number of pages, personalization, size, etc.) contact us for quantity pricing.

 

Do you have a retail storefront?

Nope, we have a small studio workspace, and make everything to order. That said, you can still set up a time to visit, or check out our Etsy shop for a few fun items not shown in our online shop.

 

I'm in Portland and have made an appointment to visit. How do I get to your studio?

We're in the big yellow building in the Southeast Industrial District. Our building is located at 107 SE Washington between 1st and Water Ave. You'll take the north elevator (on the Stark St. side) to the fourth floor, and ours is the first studio on the left.
