Bookcloth:
We use archival Japanese bookcloth for each piece in our product line. Any book or box can be bound using colors from our product-line palette, or custom colors can be ordered through our studio. There may be subtle color variation within each cloth, as dye lots vary. To better see cloth, paper, and thread colors, please order a swatch book.
-Book Cloth Color Options
When building coordinating pieces (ie: album with slipcase) we recommend staying within the same color palette to match texture and finish.
Heirloom Pallete: cloths have a slight sheen
Natural Palette: cloths have a more natural or nubbly texture
Professional Palette: cloths have a smooth, crisp finish
Baby Palette: cloths are interwoven with white threads
Binding Thread
We use long-fiber Irish linen thread, which we hand-coat in beeswax. This thread is strong and elegant and is available in warm white or black.

Paper:
Our guest book pages are a pearl white, 100% cotton text weight paper with a subtle tooth. They take all types of ink beautifully. Our photo album pages are warm white, 100% cotton rag cover weight paper with a smooth finish. They are sturdy enough to hold photos and suitable for writing in ink or pencil. Both papers are acid free and archival.

Storage:
We recommend you store your books and boxes in a cool, dry place away from direct light. Upright, spine out on a bookshelf is good. If your pages are heavy with photos, lying flat on the shelf is even better.
